Dr. Sam Elfassy, MD, MBA, FRCPC, is the Division Head of Gastroenterology at St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Toronto and a Lecturer in the Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto (UofT). He completed his Clinician Investigator and Gastroenterology training programs at McMaster University and earned a Master of Business Administration from the Rotman School of Management at UofT.

Beyond clinical medicine, Dr. Elfassy co-founded HaloHealth, Canada’s first physician angel investment group, which supports and advises health technology startups. He remains actively engaged in the health technology and entrepreneurial space, while continuing to practice gastroenterology and serve in various administrative roles at Unity Health Toronto.
